Terms of use
These terms govern the use of the Housecount app. You accept them when you create your account, by e-mail or with Apple or Google.
1. Publisher
Housecount is published on a non-professional basis by Nicolas Benais. Contact: contact@housecount.fr. See also the legal notice.
2. The service
Housecount lets you track accounts (current, savings, cash, deferred debit cards), enter transactions and recurring items, forecast balances and share all or part of this information with the members of a household. The service is provided free of charge, with no subscription or in-app purchase.
Balances, forecasts and breakdowns are computed solely from the data you and the members of your household enter. They do not replace your bank statements, which alone are authoritative.
3. Your account
The account is personal and reserved for adults. You agree to provide a valid e-mail address and to keep your password confidential. Any action taken from your account is deemed to have been taken by you; if you think someone else has used it, change your password and write to us.
4. Household and sharing
You can create a household and invite other people to it. Each account is shared, visible and editable by the members of the household, or private, visible to you only. Only invite people you want to share this information with: you remain responsible for what you choose to share.
5. Fair use
You agree not to:
- use Housecount for unlawful purposes or to record third-party data without their consent;
- attempt to access other users’ data or disrupt the operation of the service;
- create accounts in bulk, automate requests or work around technical limits.
In case of breach, access to the account may be suspended or removed.
6. Liability
Housecount is a tracking tool: it makes no payments, holds no funds and does not constitute financial, tax or legal advice. Decisions you make based on its calculations are your sole responsibility.
The publisher does its best to keep the service available, accurate and secure, and backs up the database every day, but cannot guarantee that there will never be an interruption or error. The service may be interrupted for maintenance. The publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damage, nor beyond what the law provides.
7. Personal data
The data you enter belongs to you. Its processing, its hosting in France and your rights are described in the privacy policy.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its name, logo and content are the property of the publisher. You have a personal, non-exclusive right of use for as long as your account exists; any copying, resale or reverse engineering is prohibited, except where permitted by law.
9. Term and account deletion
These terms apply as long as your account exists. You can delete it at any time from the app’s Settings, at no cost and without giving a reason; what is then deleted or kept for the other members of the household is detailed in the privacy policy. The publisher may end the service by notifying users at least 30 days in advance, to give them time to retrieve their data.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may change with the app. If there is a significant change, you will be informed in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use Housecount then constitutes acceptance. The version you accepted and its date are recorded with your account.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In case of disagreement, first write to contact@housecount.fr to find an amicable solution; failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the rules protecting consumers.
Version in force: October 25, 2026. This English version is a translation; in case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
